The Fundamentals: Reading the Gospels

Why not start at the core, learn what Jesus commanded so I can obey them, be re-convicted of the Great Love?

God's really convicting me to read the Gospels and know what's in them.
Remembering that I have my entire life to study the Bible, so there's no rush to finish this chapter, this book today.

The necessity of studying, not skimming, not just being familiar with the stories, not spouting out the most "important" verse in the section, the Word of God, for it is my sword, lamp, foundation.

The Bible is so much richer than we give it credit for.
Learning to soak it all in.
& humbly asking God to reveal truth and remove the scales on my eyes to see the fullness and holiness of His Word.

what interesting timing. I just came out of a class that basically trivialized the gospels of Matt. and Luke by saying they were written using sources that don't even exist today/no one knows much about them.
